  4. If the customer has a floor which needs latexing and is anything other than a standard sand and cement screed we need to be notified beforehand.
  5. All furniture we move, is at the customers risk if anything breaks we can not be held responsible although we are always thorough and careful.
  6. End of roll marks are not considered a complaint for up to 3 months.
  7. Pet urination is acidic and will disintegrate the backing of carpets and instantly invalidates guarantees.

  9. A minimum 50% deposit is required upon placing an order.
  10. The balance owing to Smyth Carpets must be paid prior to the fitting or delivery of goods or within 30 days of invoice date if not fitted within this time period.

  14. Title of goods does not pass until fully paid for and remains the property of Smyth Carpets.
  15. The fitters do not disconnect washing machines, dishwashers or cookers.
  16. Stretching is an inherent part in some types of carpet and is not a fault in either the carpet or the fitting. We undertake to re-stretch free of charge within the period of 6 months from the date of installation.
  17. The position of hidden pipes and cables, which are known to the customer should be notified to the fitter.
  18. Fitters do not move computers or electrical goods unless by prior arrangement with Smyth Carpets. However, the customer is responsible for disconnecting and re-connecting any items moved.
  19. All carpets may develop light and dark patches caused by uneven crushing of the pile in wear. This shading cannot be prevented. It is not a manufacturing fault or defect. Similarly different production batches may vary in shade, thus exact colour matching cannot be guaranteed from batch to batch.
  20. It is important to note that all cut pile carpets of any fibre type will flatten to some extent in traffic lane. This “Flattening” is a normal reaction to localised traffic in both domestic and contract locations, not a manufacturing fault.
  21. Smyth Carpets recommend that all new carpet be professionally fitted on a smooth sub-floor using a good quality underlay and accessories. If the underlay is too worn or old this could seriously affect the life and performance of the carpet.
